| [ 08.08.98 ] Status update | |||||
| Wow, things are going
great. Our new coder, Doyoon, is amazing; in a little less that 2 weeks,
he's gotten the majority of our mod up and running. Models and skins are
pretty much done, sfx are done except for a few odd ones that need fixing,
and maps are well underway. All in all, we're looking to be in great shape
for hitting our release date at the end of this month. As development has been steadily progressing, we've added some new things to our original goal, so expect even more stuff that listed on the Rob the Strogg page. We're really working to make sure that RTS isn't lacking in either SP or Teamplay/DM elements. No matter how you play this mod, its gonna rock :) |

| [ 26.07.98 ] New coder found! - Tiers of Terror DM map released | |||||
| Whoppee! We've found
ourselves a coder! A big Twisted Matrix welcome goes out to Doyoon Kim
for joining our team; from what we've seen, he should be able to code all
the goodies we have in store for RTS and our other projects. Sorry about the delay on releasing the Tiers of Terror DM map, but I got side tracked doing a map for a secret project (more info in a month). In any case, go grab this latest release by heading over to the files page. |

| [ 24.07.98 ] New Screenshots from RTS - email alias working | |||||
| Trebz mailed me a couple
of screenshots from his RTS map, the Killing Fields, so I decided to pass
them on to you. At the left is a preview of one of them, click on it to
go to the now functional screenshots page to check
out all of the new shots. Well, the good folks at Telefragged got the email alias up and running, so you can now mail us at tmatrix@telefragged.com or just click the contact button up above. |

| [ 21.07.98 ] Farewell to a friend - state of affairs - call for coders and modelers | |||||
| Not more than 48 hoursafter
launching this site, I recieved some bad news from one of our members.Apparently,
Andrew (aka Egg) would have to leave our team for the timebeing due to
Real Life(tm). We all wish him good luck in the future and thank him for
all the great work he's done for us. Truth be told though, his departure leaves us with a large hole in our productive force; you see, besides being our modeler, Andrew had assumed coding responsibilities while Chris was busy with his new engine, so his loss hit us twice as hard. The remaining members however are dedicated to the task at hand and are committed to finishing up our latest endeavor. Unfortunately, we need some help. So if you would be interested in joining our team (as a coder or modeler) and making some kick ass mods for q2 and upcoming FPS games, then please drop us a line and we'll be happy to check out your work. Also, if you've mailed us in the past couple days, please do so again as the alias for the email account still isn't working correctly and all previous mail has...well...vanished. The new address is the correct one. Thanks. One bit of good news though, expect a new DM level to be released in a couple days (I just need to fix a few bugs and add a few more powerups in there :) |

| [ 19.07.98 ] SOF postponed - new site opening - call for coders | |||||
| Well well, it seems the
saps over at Telefragged have
been foolish enough to give our demented crew a little home of our own.
Much thanks to them...now on to the introduction.
Welcome to the Twisted Matrix err...site. God, that sounds lame. Anyways, here (whatever the hell you call it) is where you'll find all the latest information about the doings of our team of software developers. For those of you who have followed our work in the past, you know we were previously working on a Quake 2 Total Conversion entitled, The Secret of Farcron. This was originally conceived to take the Quake 2 engine and the first person shooter to new heights...levels that have now been conquered by the likes of Unreal and other soon to be forthcoming 3d titles. With many of our ideas for new weapons, gameplay elements, and powerups no longer being cutting edge, the glamour of the project began to dwindle. Along with that, our main coder began deep development of his own engine and we lost one of our modelers. All that added up to one thing, we no longer had the desire nor the manpower to continue development of our project. So we saved the core idea (which is still quite original) and postponed development of a game with that as its theme for a later date....and moved on. So what are we up to now? Well, we've begun a small mod we think you may just find appealing, no matter what type of Quake player you are. You see, our mod is a SP, DM, and Teamplay mod, all rolled into one. If you don't believe me, check out the projects page to discover all about Rob the Strogg. We think you'll like it. As I mentioned, our main coder is deep within the realm of engine development (so much so we haven't heard from him in over a week) and so we are in need of some more help in that area. If you think you have the skills and the desire to work with some great people to make some kick ass stuff, drop us a line. Should you have that special something we're looking for (which right now means q2 coding experience) you could join the ranks of some great mappers, modelers, coders, and the best fucking sfx guy on the planet who doesn't get paid for it commercially. Really though, our talent is top quality and so will be the software we release. Just to get ya primed, check out the screenshot to your right. It's from a Deathmatch map one of our mappers is finishing up. Click on it for a full sized image. |
