the end of November in '97 the kind people over and VRGN contacted us and
asked if we'd be interested in doing a one level TC to put up on their server
for the holidays. We agreed, not knowing what we were getting into--mainly
the fact that we would only have 2.5 WEEKS to do it! But prevail we did, just squeezing out the final product as our release date was upon us. And I guess you liked it, since over 15,000 people downloaded it in the first week. For those of you who missed it, here's what it was all about. Premise: "'Twas the day before Christmas, and all is not well...... it seems this years mall Santa, comes straight from Hell. An impostor has forced his way into the local mall and, in short, Evil Santa has enslaved Good Santa and has been keeping him locked up as his prisoner. Evil Santa now rules the Mall from his throne room, and plans to terminate any parents or children who show up to ask for their gifts. No presents for anyone this Christmas! Goal: Rid the mall of all of Evil Santa's creepy henchmen and free Good Santa so that everybody gets their presents this year. Christmas is riding on your shoulders, soldier. Up for the challenge? Seems simple enough doesn't it? Well, not so fast; Evil Santa has also brought his demented snowmen and fiendish little elves who want nothing more than to bite, kick, stomp and tear you apart. Description: Players enter a brand new SP/DM level in the form of an overrun mall and must fight their way through its corridors and storerooms to the underground lair of the Evil Santa Claus. But be careful though, this TC is packed with all new monsters such as rocket- launching reindeer and icicle-shooting snowmen who wait around every corner trying to stop your progress. In addtion to the new AI and monsters, Twisted Christmas comes packed with all new sfx, textures, and code that emerges the player in their environment like never before.
